We recently sent out an email to all our users asking the question 'What inspired you to sign up and create a myfarewellnote for your family and friends?'

It was certainly an interesting and varied response but what amazed us was just how many of our recent users explained that they had searched for a service like ours after watching the Ricky Gervais series 'After Life'.

In this wonderful and inspiring series, Tony (played by Ricky Gervais) sadly loses his wife Lisa to breast cancer(played by Kerry Godliman) and contemplates suicide because of her death. But he seems to take positive motivation from watching video messages that his wife had made for him prior to her death which appear to help him with the grieving process and make him think differently about life.

If you haven't seen this inspiring series already then please take the time to watch it as there is so much from it that I am sure will make you think differently about life and death

That programme was fantastic. Ricky Gervais will win an award for his role. I've always found him funny but he showed what a very good actor he was as well. I think the idea of leaving messages is great and is exactly why I signed up to myfarewellnote

Afterlife was totally inspiring. I lost my husband a few years ago and that's exactly how i felt. I saw no reason to go on. Slowly I have got myself into a more positive frame of mind but the pain never goes away. I so wish i had video messages or notes from Bill but this app didn't exist when he passed.

A friend of mine told me that he had made some video messages and saved videos of himself and his Wife which he had put on a memory stick incase something happened to him.
I actually thought he was mad but after watching After Life and visualising someone who is grieving actually watching these types of videos I can now see why they would be so beneficial to someone who has suffered a tragic loss like Tony did in this brilliant series.
Just signed up to myfarewellnote and now in the process of doing the same for my Wife.

I had already signed up to myfarewellnote at the beginning of 2018 after a friend of mine told me about it.
I have made messages for my Husband and he has also made some for me so when we started watching After Life together we both got quite emotional with the Lisa and Tony scenes and it made us realise just how important it is that we have done this for each other and for our daughters.
Have told all my friends to watch After Life and also told so many of them about myfarewellnote.

Saw your tweet about After Life and thought I would see what Myfarewellnote is all about. So pleased that I did as I have never really thought about doing this until I watched this series and so much of it really hit home with me.Love the fact that it is so cheap and that you can change and redo the messages that you make plus knowing that they are going to be kept safe with no chance of anyone seeing them until I do die(hopefully not too soon though!)
