Our forum thread 'Memorable Songs' has proven extremely popular amongst our many users and lots of the songs that have been posted are songs that were played at a funeral service.

So if you could pick one song of your choice to be played at your own funeral service then which song would it be and why?
Or is there a song that you would like to be played at a funeral service of someone special? A song that you feel would be the perfect tribute to them and if so what are the reasons behind choosing that song

For me personally,I would like DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER by Oasis to be played at my funeral service.
Reason being, that I have always been a huge fan of Oasis and this is my all time favourite song of theirs

My Wife and I are big fans of Michael Buble and there is one particular song of his which I have sung and played as a tribute to my Wife on many occasions. That song is 'Everything' and having also sung it to her at our wedding, I have already decided in my head that this is the perfect tribute song to be played at my Wife's funeral should she pass away before I do because she is quite simply my 'Everything'.
I wonder how many other Michael Buble fans out there feel the same about this song regarding their partners?

I have often thought about which one song I would like played at my own funeral and being a fan of The Beatles it would be easy for me to choose one of their songs.
However the song I am choosing is a particular favourite of mine which has beautiful lyrics and seems perfect for my send off.
"The end of the end is the start of a journey to a much better place".? The End of the End by Paul McCartney

I am still red raw about losing my husband to a terminal illness just 3 months ago and for various reasons have been doing a lot of reading on the internet and came across your site. Firstly, I wanted to say what a brilliant idea I think this is and I so so wish that i'd known about it before he died. Knowing that Dan was sadly going to die, we planned everything to the last detail - including his funeral song. He wanted James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover to be played and said that he wanted it to be a message to me for everyone to hear. It totally gets me in the heart every time I hear it. I have no idea how I kept my composure at the funeral because when I heard the song and found myself listening to the words closer than i'd ever done before, I have never felt so emotional. I've been reading through this thread and just had to add my little story. I wish everyone had the comfort of one of your notes. I would have so wanted one from him that I could treasure forever
