This is where anyone can share with us all, their own memories and thoughts about someone that has passed away.
It could be a member of your family, a friend, a work colleague or even somebody famous.

Tell us why they were so important to you and share with us the memories and lasting legacy that they have left you with and we hope that by sharing these memories on here with other people, will be of great benefit and comfort to you and a lovely lasting tribute to that person.

My all time hero was George Michael. I have followed him as a fan for so many years, loved his outlook on life and music. Famous people have added pressure on them, can't do the normal things we do, shopping, just going out for a meal etc without getting pestered by someone wanting a selfie or an autograph, its a real shame. I'm convinced it was part of this life style that contributed to his death, we should give these people piece, enjoy them as celebrities, but let them have a life also, R.I.P. George Michael, Sam x.

Thank you Sam. I hear what you are saying, in the end, they are only human like the rest of us and media pressure can be very debilitating and stressful. Thank you for your input, Steve myfarewellnote team.

Was extremely heartwarming to see the amount of respected footballers, managers and sports presenters turn out in force today for the memorial service of Ray Wilkins and it clearly goes to show just how respected Ray really was.
Hearing about it death came as a huge shock to me as we are were both the same age and I personally knew Ray from a very young age when we were both apprentices at Chelsea FC.
I suffered a serious injury in my early career which meant that I was unable to go any further than Non League football but I watched on with pride as Ray progressed to the first team and went on to have an incredible footballing career. We stayed in contact with each other for almost 40 years afterwards and even when I had emigrated to Australia we still kept in touch before, for whatever reason we just lost contact with each other around 2012.
A funny little story was that we always joked with each other saying 'Would we ever see Chelsea win the League in our lifetime'.
Over many years, Ray would always respond by saying what he would do if he was manager at that time and that if he was ever in charge then they would win it!
Well he stuck to his word, albeit as Assistant Manager and eventually won the league with Chelsea which gave me added satisfaction after years of Ray telling me that he could win it.
RIP Ray and thanks for being a good friend over the years and for being an all round lovely bloke. G.S.

Really shocked and saddened to hear the news today that Chas Hodges has passed away. For me personally, it has an added sadness as Chas and Dave will forever remind me of my Grandad who passed away back in 1990. He was always playing them on his stereo whenever I went to see him and we would end up having a sing song together in his living room. 2 weeks before my Grandad passed away, he took an excited 10 year old me to go and see them perform live and I totally loved it. This is one of the lasting memories that I have of my Grandad and to this day I still listen to Chas and Dave with 'There Ain't No Pleasing You' being my favourite song of theirs, which funnily enough was also my Grandad's favourite(he use to tell me that it was written about my Nan!)
RIP Chas and thank you for the memories

We lost pop two weeks ago, to Cancer. Cancer does not discriminate, he suffered for three months before it got the better of him. Wild Horses by the rolling stones was his fav song. He saw the stones 8 times, god bless you pops.
